Kids-free zones: business choice or discrimination?
A blanket restriction on children can create tension between a quiet setting and families' access to a business. Behavior rules instead of age limits, restrictions tied to a specific safety issue and separate areas or times offer alternatives for considering an appropriate boundary. Noise and safety call for different responses, and age alone also turns away customers who caused nothing. Quieter seating, separate hours and rules on the accompanying adult are worth comparing.
